- The Revere Journal has Carlo Basil running for Anthony Petruccelli's statehouse seat after Petruccelli inevitably wins the uncontested election in former Senate President Robert Travaglini's district. I don't know anything about Basil, but he's the only potential candidate I've seen discussed at all for the East Boston House district.

- In another setback for Hess LNG and Weaver's Cove Energy, the state Department of Environmental Protection has halted the review of the proposed Fall River LNG plant, pending a positive determination by the Coast Guard later in the summer. Given what the Coast Guard said last month, the LNG proposal may finally be defeated.
